Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Banded

A couple of these Banded Demoiselle added to the interest in the wildflower meadow in the park. Usually found near rivers, there is no obvious watercourse nearby, the nearest two: River Aire and Meanwood Beck, are both about a kilometre away. There is an underground reservoir right next to the meadow though, so that might explain their presence.

There were a few butterflies about: Meadow Brown, Large Skipper, Small Tortoiseshell and Small White.

The Degree Show is open at work, all week until Saturday. I haven’t had a look around myself yet, but it’s always fall of inspiring work, so do come along if you’re in the vicinity.
