Two interesting creatures

After doctors this morning, had a coffee at Embleton Spa and then a look into Silver Meadows nature reserve. It is a long time since I was there as the parking is so bad since the cafe opened in the old railway carriage. It seemed as there were so many dog walkers in the reserve, there would be no chance of seeing anything interesting.
Came home and sat by pond for a while, rescued a ladybird from the pond (something else I hadn't seen for a long time), managed to get a few pictures of it as it sat drying its wings.
Then for my big surprise, a large Dragon fly kept flying around the pond, it was very windy so struggled to get pictures, but managed to get an out of focus one as it settled for a split second. Extra. On looking in my book I have found it is a  Broad Bodied Chaser recognisable by its blue body and says common only in the south of England.
I will be spending more time looking for this one.
