Pollinating the Coffee...

It's not like we wake up each morning with sincere thoughts of gratitude for pollinators foremost on our minds. But perhaps we should, at least occasionally, give them their due. Today begins International Pollinator Week, June 16 thru 22 and if you're a fruit and veggie lover, as I am, maybe how about giving them a smile and a passing thought of thanks. 
The colorful pollinator in my photo is a Brown-winged Striped Sweat Bee, Agapostamon splendent, doing her 'thing', pollinating our native coffee bush while enjoying a few sips of sweet nectar.  m
