Grandfather's Day
The rain tippled down all morning – I briefly legged it out brushing past the soaking bushes to get the papers. We decided a matinee was in order – Treading Water – a nice little slice of Mancunian grim about Danny, an addict which was pretty excellently acted.
And then I had pre-Father’s Day visitors – the daughter and her nippers (S-i-l being off on the lash) who came to tea bearing a little gift. For my part I opened a bottle of fizz as the daughter has a new job in prospect. Don’t ask me what it is - Strategic Operations and Growth Manager is the role apparently. It’s a nice title anyway though it would scare the pants off me. Strategic, lumme. Let’s hope she doesn’t have to make up the strategy.
