A Cathkin Braes Luncheon...

This was a luncheon at the Cathkin Braes Golf Club, hosted by James Stuart Stevenson and his wife Kathy. James (Jimmie) is the Last Laird of Castlemilk's Great Grandson and they live in America. He has an honorary membership of the Golf Club and arranged this luncheon for my old Castlemilk History Group members and I and members of the Cassiltoun Trust (Stables), Carmunnock Heritage members and members of the Calderglen Heritage Group, And a couple of Jimmie's friends. Jimmie and his wife came over to Scotland from Ireland, their first port of call on their holiday. Spent a few days in Dunbar and the Isle of Lewis before meeting up with us all. This couple are so lovely and down to earth, we are very fond of them and I know they appreciate all the people who strive to preserve the history of his family and area where they lived.  Jimmie was asked (I think every year) to be the 'Chieftain' of the Carmunnock Gala day Parade, but mostly he cannot make it every year, but we were lucky that they did on this Saturday Saturday the 14th.
