The Seven Hills Race
We'd rushed back from Bergen so that R could run the Seven HIlls of Edinburgh Race. No set route other than you have to visit the checkpoint at the top of each of the 7 hills starting and finishing at Calton Hill. You have to work out the quickest route yourself which R has checking out in the last few weeks. Here he is running up to the finish in 8th place, with Arthurs Seat, which he's just descended from, and Salisbury Crags in the background,. R's time was 1 hour 56 mins to run about 14 miles with 2000 feet of climb. But hats off to all the 600 who took part, even the slowest, a female runner in 4.5 hours. Our sons' running skills have been inherited from their father that's for sure.
