2 1/2 miles of 5,000+ people
My town is just a little suburb but the turnout was impressive, joyful, and peaceful.
People were surprisingly on point.
Most of the attendees were white, but given that the police tend to be gentler with white bodies, this is appropriate. The people honking their horns though! Everyone of every race was honking their horns! It is also immensely gratifying to have truck drivers honk their horns in support, but we all loved the US Postal Service driver determinedly honking his horn.
I got to see blipper SBanks!
Then problem with walking and photographing the entire line of people is that you have to walk back the whole way. I'm still glad I exercised this morning before going, but I definitely napped this afternoon.
I read that 8 million people protested. Today. In the US.
I also read that no one showed up at the military parade in DC. What a disappointing birthday party.
The memorial for Lisa's mom went perfectly and she was very moved by how much people loved her mother.
This evening I finally revamped my resume.
