Ile de Bonaventure

We took a boat trip today to Bonaventure  where you can walk across the island to view the gannets. On the way we saw some humpback whales leaping in the distance but too far away to photograph from a rocking boat. There were several colonies each with thousands of gannets but the sheer numbers made it difficult to isolate some to photograph. Many, like this one, seemed to be nest building.  The extra is of a yellow warbler, also seen on the island.
