Joyful
It has been a very fun day, starting with tea and overnight oats with bestie Peg before she headed into NYC to meet up with Ellen and Kura. Then, I headed off to the horse show where I spent a very enjoyable 4 hours or so taking pictures. It was drizzling for part of the morning, so happy I had rain jackets for me and the camera. I think the drizzle actually made for some great images with the added bonus that I did not have to try to manage horses in direct sun! I haven't finished sorting the images yet, but this one spoke to me because of the pure joy on the young rider's face - worth looking at this in large just so you can smile, too.
I made it a point to take more candid shots today which is always fun for me. And I managed to meet up with a young rider and her mom - her mom had reached out to purchase some images and wanted me to meet her girl, an 8 year old equestrian. I enjoyed chatting with mom and my only regret is that I did not ask to take some shots of her daughter because this girl has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. I am very self-conscious about taking people pictures so although I was thinking how much I'd like to take some pictures of her, I didn't ask. Something I need to work on. If she is there next week, I may work up my nerve to ask.
Back at home, I changed into warm sweats and curled up with laptop and Jax on the sofa to edit. It was chilly and damp today so being cuddled up in comfy clothes with a warm dog was just perfect.
I had a quick peek at FB and was so proud to see how many of my friends participated in "No Kings" marches and peaceful protests. And while I 100% support our troops, I refuse to watch the parade - I believe it is a very thinly veiled move on our leader's part to celebrate himself, taking a page out of North Korea's playbook.
So that's a wrap for me.
xoxo
