Harness Racing
Today’s blip is of harness racing, which was taking place at the racecourse today.
Harness Racing is a form of horse racing in which the horses race at a specific gait (a trot or a pace). They usually pull a two-wheeled cart called a sulky, spider, or chariot occupied by a driver. In Europe, and less frequently in Australia and New Zealand, races with jockeys riding directly on saddled trotters (trot monté in French) are also conducted.
It was fun to watch, and thankfully, the thunder and lightning from earlier in the day had subsided.
In other news, while it rained we watched a Hallmark film, did the jigsaw, made a rhubarb and strawberry crumble, along with strawberry smoothies, before walking into town to get our steps.
For tea, we are making a Greek potato, spinach and cheese filo tart.
Not bad, considering we thought we would stay in all day due to the flood warning.
I hope you have enjoyed today.
