Slow Cosmos

Both the Cosmos I bought, and my few from seeds, have taken ages to get beyond leaves.

They are mainly in tubs, although a few were direct into borders.

Are they late, or is it just that mine are lagging behind ? 

Extra….I couldn’t resist another Astrantia…. But these are looking better as large individually spotlighted blooms than the usual lush beds…. Strange.
