Wanderings and meanders

A ticket was going spare so I joined J with her family and friends to see Moulin Rouge. It was packed and really hot, but the show managed to distract entirely from the oppressive feeling in the stalls. Familiar songs are packed in, with some just throw away lines and others adapted to fit and segue into extended medleys. For a moment the entire audience thought they had forgotten that the story ended abruptly - but no, a tannoy announcement that a production issue would stop play for two minutes. Resumed without too much delay to conclude properly.
