Another Sign
My very good friend, and former Blipper Paula, sent me some profound words twice this week. She first said about the loss of Peanut, “She was a star who burned bright, and perhaps meant to join the wild dance in the night sky. Look up, and she will be looking down watching over you as she capers, knowing how loved she was, and always will be.”
I took Paula’s advice, and have looked up in the sky, as I thought of her. This early morning, about 3:30 AM, I was outside, and I looked up to the dark, starry sky. I said out loud, “I love and miss you, Peanut.” No sooner had the words left my mouth, than a barn owl screeched, an answer from a tree in our backyard. We have barn owls living in our barn. Another answer from their realm.
I emailed Paula as soon as I heard the call, and she sent me this: “Peanut had a force of character in life, and that energy has carried forward into something equally powerful, if more abstract. I am sure she will continue to talk to you in many ways. I hope you can take comfort in this.”
I do take comfort, sad, sad comfort in this, sad comfort.
