All the better to see you with my dear
A jumping spider
A female zebra spider
Salticus scenicus
I was in the birdhide again this afternoon to look at the waterbirds and was visited by this arriving on the window ledge to look back at me with its large round eyes.
(This image suggested to me a likeness to the 'Minions' cartoon figures.)
I decided to make it my blip for today since, just yesterday, I identified this spider for another bipper.
Update on the Waterbirds
The loch was visited by a group of seven canada geese - the most I have ever seen here.
The sad news is that the swan family has now been reduced to just two cygnets.
The good news is that two pairs of great-crested grebes each have three babies. In previous years, a third pair have nested at the east end of the loch, not far from the carpark but there have been no sightings of any around there this year. I will continue to check out that area In case they have just been very secretive.
