The patient.
What a long day up at six o’clock and breakfast at seven o’clock Mr PC’s last meal only water or black tea until 10 o’clock when we leave to drive to the hospital arriving just before eleven o’clock. Half a dozen other people waiting. All patients called to the ward and I got sent home. Just a waiting game four o’clock and Mr PC calls to say operation went well and back on the ward. six o’clock calls again might not be getting home BP low, nine o’clock I’m being discharged okay I’m on my way. Ten thirty we finally get home armed with a pair of crutches and a bag of syringes I have to inject him every morning for six weeks to prevent DVT.
Let the healing begin.
