Another Art Project at the Library

The exterior walls of our downtown public library have once again been transformed into an art installation. This time it is the work of local woodcut artist Bridget Henry, on the theme of Home: “Who has one, who can afford one, what is your dream home, what would you do if you didn’t have one? " Bridget carved nine woodcuts, which were then enlarged to 17 x 10 foot panels and wheat pasted onto the building's plain brick walls; they will stay up til the elements shred them down. One woodcut features a bird's nest, another a tree house, a third is a house on wheels. "The library's intention is to start a conversation about a very important topic and to get people to participate in that discussion."

Home is the second installation at the library site. Last year at this time, a photography project featured black and white pictures of local residents and library patrons.
