The Mountain Cornflower
Centaurea Montana
A beautiful name for a beautiful flower. This was at Smallhythe, a National Trust property.
Mr K sensibly made note of the history of the property, see Smallhythe Place. | BobKennedyPhoto | Blipfoto.
For me, I was more interested in the beautiful gardens and insect life. Due to the extreme heat, we took turns to walk around and kept Jak in the shade. I found a sheltered spot behind the pond and discovered a little notepad in my bag. I set about drawing a poppy from the garden using the only medium available to me - a black biro. I was pleasantly surprised how effective that was. Those art lessons must be paying off!
