family in action

I treasure this shot because it is so authentic! This is no carefully crafted family portrait, with matching outfits and perfect poses. This is real life.
We had a lovely midday dinner at Saraah's in-laws' home, and at the end of the meal I asked them if they would use my camera to take a picture of us with the kids and grandkids. The adults all lined up and smiled, but the grandsons had different ideas.
Levi was joking around, Lewis was squirming to get down, and Lincoln was sad to have to give up playing to be in a picture.
I think this portrait shows much more than just our physical features. It makes me smile!
And I will cling to this happy thought until our next visit, because tonight we had to say goodbye...
