Skiathos Town

Today we went early to Koukounaries beach as we were told that you need to leave by 11am when the boat arrives from the mainland. Boy were they right! They swarmed off the boat and took over the beach but we’d already had two hours of lovely swimming and were away on a water taxi to Skiathos Town. We spent the day walking round the streets and cafes and found the clock tower - the only venue used in the Mamma Mia film, the rest was shot on next door Skopolos. We saw some stunning views and amazing coloured water.
Back on the bus to our local beach for more swimming, then after a brief stop at our hotel to change we were back out again on the bus to find a recommended restaurant. The moussaka was delicious - worth the trip.
