Late, but huge
The chillies and peppers are very late to ripen this year. It is presumably thanks to our cool overcast summer. But while they are late, and not prolific, they are super-sized. And they taste great.
I'm not sure what I will do with the chillies yet. There is a large container of dried ones from 2023 already in the pantry. And I have two large bags of frozen chillies. And there are even two Agee jars of pickled ones.
Why, I am asking myself, did I grow any more? Bonkers.
Thank you for the considered comments yesterday. Can I direct you to Arachne's response which touched me deeply. She was able to provide quite a different interpretation to what may be going on, as a result of her personal experience. Thank you Arachne for your openness and for reminding me to be more open-minded.
I am reluctant to probe into my friend's daughter's situation, so I doubt I will ever shed much light on her behaviour. But the bigger picture remains: we are stripping the planet and we need to stop before it's too late...
