Jug head…..
Once I had been round all the cattle this morning , set about filling in the ‘June Return’ form. This is an agricultural census the Scottish Government send you twice a year where you have to tell them what acreage of each crop you grow, how many sheep and cattle you have in the 1st of June and various other daft questions about labour units among other things.
I was thinking of getting a proper job, as according to the form ,working full time means 39 hours a week. Wonder what you do for the other 4 days?
By the time I had added up all the figures from all the scraps of paper with counts in them I eventually managed to come to a total of 4379 sheep and 533 cattle. No wonder we are short of grass…
This was the terrier cleaning the milk jug for me after I’d fed the pet calf this morning. He eventually managed to pull it off his head after walking round in circles for a while …..
