Viaduc de Garabit

I first heard about this place in a French textbook many years ago.   I have never seen it so when we found ourselves a few miles away in St Flour,  we had to visit it.

The bridge was constructed between 1882 and 1884 by Gustave Eiffel and at the time was the highest bridge in the world.

Later we visited another record-breaking bridge,  the Viaduct de Millau ,that Technophobe is blipping
