London Archives
Today I met WendsWanders at Angel tube. We started with coffee and a pastry and then visited the London Archives.
It is a free archive which focuses on the history of London from 1067 to the present date. They preserve and share millions of manuscripts, maps and photographs etc. which tell the story of the City. The two main exhibitions we saw today were Life during WWII, and a poster collection of London's Tramways.
Although the exhibitions were relatively small, the information displayed was really interesting.
We then had a walk along Exmouth Market where we had some lunch.
The Extra is a local food and entertainment venue. Many years ago there used to be a Bourne and Hollingsworth store in Oxford Street. I haven't found a direct link between the two, but it is an unusual pairing of names, so I would think there is a connection.
