The main event of the day was mum's departure from the hospital. The op is tomorrow but she caught a bit of a cold at the party so was worried that it would be postponed. My sisters took her to the hospital which is in Grenoble, an hour's drive from where we are. I also had a bit of a sniffle, so decided not to go, just in case.
I went to the market in the morning, to get some melons, apricots and cherries for lunch. 
In the evening, I was invited to eat by my childhood friend Alain and his wife, they are coming to Scotland in August, so we discussed logistics, itinerary etc... We went for a walk afterwards and I was shocked to see the effects of the wildfire in Canada (extra). My sister also said that you could hardly see the mountains on the way to Grenoble. The moon was incredibly red..
