Towel wash today

And some lovely sunshine again.
I had a bit of a U3a day today - the group called Ageing with Curiosity and Creativity.  I’m really enjoying it, though it’s quite a challenge sometimes.
Then in the afternoon the U3a ‘see a film at the Watershed than go to the pub to discuss it’ group. We saw The Encampments - a documentary about the student encampments on the campuses of US universities in 2024, how Palestinian, Jewish and other students organised themselves to campaign for a ceasefire in Gaza, but in particular to persuade their universities to divest from arms manufacturers. It focused in particular on Columbia in New York- who have billions invested in Lockheed and similar. It was interesting to see how city, state and national authorities characterized the protests as violent, threatening and antisemitic. While they were actually peaceful and wanted peace. They were broken up violently by the NYPD. An interesting film showing something you would never see if you just watch the news.
