St Flour
It’s getting hotter as we go further south. Up in the hills of the Auvergne we were at one point over a thousand metres up and it was very pleasant. So we decided to stop at St Flour, rather than carry on to Millau to stay at the Aire there which we’re not even sure still exists.
We stopped at services just north of Clermont Ferrand where there is a viewpoint over the (ancient extinct) volcanic hills in the distance. But they were barely visible through the haze. There were warnings of pollution so I’m not sure if this is home grown French pollution or Canadian forest fire smoke or what.
We walked into the town which has an enormous cathedral. We came to bar where we had a very welcome beer. It must have been good because after that I completely forgot to do my Blip! Only the second time I’ve done that in ten and a half years.
So this is back blipped.
