WI Summer Outing
I had another busy Wednesday, but today I was doing different things. It was our WI Summer Outing today. This year we went to Raby Castle. The picture I have for my blip is our group in front of the castle. As you can see, we had a lovely day. We had stopped on the way to the castle for lunch at a pub. On arrival at the castle we had a tour of the inside with a very entertaining tour guide, then we had time to look round the grounds and have ice cream.
After an enjoyable trip out, in the evening there was a meeting about the buses. Over 50 people in attendance to hear the councillor with the transport brief talk to us and have a question and answer session with the attendees. The W&F councillor turned up 15 minutes late. We had some information on a survey we had been doing, followed by a lot of information on the councils bus plan. Sadly the map on the front of the Council’s bus plan doesn’t include the area to the east of the M6 that is part of Westmorland and Furness where Sedbergh is. We then had the entertaining bit. One of our Parish Councillors really told them what she thought.
A lively discussion followed. Many voices were heard from a wide range of interests asking for a better service. This is just the start!.
