A Swan Silhouette

The first trip of the season to Kensington Metro Park. I paid my 29 dollars for a yearly pass, and went to my favorite 4 spots. I go mostly to see sand-hill cranes, and I did see a handful of them today.

But the swan won me over, not in the direct sunlight, but the harsh light of the rays behind the bird.

I did have a first today. I was shooting a goose family 0f 7 when dad and mom and the 5 babies jumped to attention. What caused the turmoil? It was an opossum. I always hate to be unkind, but that is one ugly animal. No wonder it scared the goslings.

It was an enjoyable morning, though there weren't many new babies at the farm center. Only a couple of toddler goats. 

Prince spaghetti day for supper, with carrots and green beans mixed right into the sauce. I took the leftovers over to my dad for lunch tomorrow  and had a nice conversation with him...just 2 old guys talking.
