Busy Day

An relatively early start to be at St P's and G's before 10 meant no swim but I did get up in time to feed starter, do the (small amount of) ironing and made up the spare bedroom ready for S and T tomorrow.

Then off to town.  It was already warm and sunny.  St P's and G's is a great venue and I was there for the ACOSVO Members' Day.  Caught up with B and E and also my new CEO.  There was also some surprising news of Motherwell.  Though I enjoyed the morning, and came away with a bag full of goodies, it wasn't very inspiring.  Because of my role with Edinburgh College I was interested in the input from the CEO of Dundee and Angus but I'm old and it gets tedious now to hear people extolling 'exciting new developments' that I did myself or knew of people doing 40+ years ago.  I sigh and think that people learn better buy doing and making their own mistakes not by taking the learning from earlier years.

Had a quick lunch and then got the bus up to the Lyceum (should really have walked) but met M on the bus and then we, joined by some others, sat on the Usher Hall steps till it was time to go in.

Due to M being in London for an audition we had next week's, last session, today.  It was good fun and an interesting way to review the term but it wasn't the last week.  We finished early but I still got home at 4.50.

It was still very warm so I sat in the garden with the radio and then planted most of the plants I bought earlier in the week.  I'm quite pleased about how the garden looks.  With a few sit downs in the middle that took till nearly 8 so I watched Location x 3 and then started my sourdough loaves and also sourdough pancakes.  I'll have to do the next stage tomorrow before I go off to the NMS.

And finally a catch up with the BBC News.  Sad about Brian Wilson.  I can remember the effect 'Good Vibrations' had on me in the 60's.  It's still a classic now.
