Jill & Sue's holidays – Day 4
Today we had a plan................ the plan was to walk 'St Michaels Way' which is a 12.5 mile coast to coast walk from Marazion to Lelant. Ann has done this walk at least a couple of times before and it's actually not that interesting. It involves a lot of trekking through fields. However, her sister's wanted to do it, so that was what we were going to do.
Best laid plans and all that................. Today was the day that the work to remove all the moss of the roof of our communal building re-commenced. And, Ann, (as the only permanent owner occupier), felt that she should be on-site to ensure that everything went according to plan so she didn't go on the sisters walk.
Everything did not go according to plan.............. Long story short...........The management company had sent an email to all owners last week requesting that car park spaces were cleared the evening before. The only person who did this was Ann. The Cherrypicker, which was supposed to be here at 7am, didn't turn up until noon, (see extras), and then it took another hour to offload it from the truck. Work on the roof actually started about 1pm.
Jill & Sue were half way through their 'St Michaels Way' walk by this time, the noise from the 'Cherrypicker cleaning thingy' was horrendous so we abandoned ship (once Ann realised work had actually begun) and went off to Zennor to walk to Gurnards Head via the coast path and back via the fields. Very, very, stenuous along the coastal path, but an easy walk back through the fields.
When we got home, I got left 'home alone' while Ann, Jill & Sue went for a swim down on Porthmeor Beach. I didn't mind that, because by then I was pretty tired anyway.
….........And then this evening I got left 'home alone' again whilst the three sisters went down to the 'Fish Shed; for dinner. The 'monkfish' at the 'Fish Shed' never disappoints and that is what they all had. Yum, yum. Yum.
I didn't have to stay 'home alone' for long. They were back home within ' 2 hours to watch 'Spring Watch'??!! Obv Ann doesn't watch SpringWatch – she just watches soaps. Lol!!! …............Who goes out in the evening and is back within 2 hours. If Ann had been out with her friends, she would have had at least a couple of Negroni's & a bottle of Prosecco before they went out, at least 2 bottles of wine, if not three, with dinner. And then they would have gone on somewhere for a nightcap??!! .......With Jill & Sue, it was like............... we've had dinner, let's go home now.
It's weird how three sisters can have totally different lifestyles even though there's not too much of an age difference between them. However in the 60/70s there was a HUGE age difference and there's things that happened in Ann's childhood that her sisters have absolutely no idea of, because they were considered too young to understand. In those days you just didn't mix with anyone who was more than a couple of years younger/older than you. These days there's no generation gap, which has got to be a good thing.
Unfortunately Jill & Sue do not want to be photographed this week, which is why we're having to write so much text. As you all know Ann uses BLIP/FB as a diary of her life and if we were allowed to post a few photos, we wouldn't have to post so much text??!!
Oh well, ho hum, life is what it is.......................
