A group of herons …

… is called a “Siege” apparently!
I saw these five, and two more out of shot, just outside Strichen Park this morning. I don’t think I’ve seen more than three herons together before so a first for me.
( I hope the cygnets aren’t their target)
We went down to our allotment to cut the grass and weed our patch, but when we opened our shed door, a large number of wasps appeared and when I looked up, there was a wasps’ bike hanging from the roof. It was larger than a tennis ball but smaller than a football, at the moment.
I don’t like killing things so I guess we will just have to use our garden hoe, rake etc until later in the year.
