Lost View

The window has been overtaken by the Ivy. Many years ago when going through a split up my now husband ended up with an small ivy plant his ex didn't want. He planted it at the base of the wall expecting it to not survive or maybe grow up a bit, several decades on not only has it survived but it has thrived.

It is a variegated leaf which is not a local plant, it is west facing so it gets some sun in all but the darkest winter and it found the window open quite a number of years ago! The shape is still seen but the amount of light that gets in is minimal!

The window had been painted white and is in a little used room, but the ivy looks so good and has done so well it will be sad when I have to cut it back!
