EB -Blue boy's bedtime
Last night our road was blocked at one end where the A14 leads into an arterial road. Consequently the road was BLISSFULLY traffic free and quiet. For the first time in ages slept with bedroom windows open as no traffic noise would wake me in the night. Many in the road WhatsApp group were also relishing the peace, quiet and safety when taking children to school.
When the road was first constructed in the early 1930s it was not a through road. A wall prevented that and it was effectively a cul de sac. House building in later decades opened up the cul de sac but it's really only been in the past decade with the expansion of the half mile distant A14 and so much development that it has become a ratrun through the day and night. More development is planned and however much active travel of walking, cycling and use of public transport is supposed to be part of the plan, motor vehicle use has increased.
Took the hound for an early morning walk at 7am. We were able to cross the roads easily and it was peacefully quiet. Forecast was for a warm day so walking in the cool morning was necessary.
After breakfast headed to town to see a gallery exhibition and coffee with bestie Anna.
Had a great catch-up. We didn't notice the hours passing.
Back home Mr still clearing the garage. I sat in the garden reading The Lacuna which I'm finding very engaging.
Pleasant evening everyone.
