Garden Mine!

Or Wood Aven 2!  Ten days ago I mentioned the two plants on our pen that I disliked most, and today here is the end product of one of them.

Calling this seed head a Garden Mine is very appropriate in my mind. Touch it and the bard attaches, and then the ripe seed head explodes - well, not quite explodes, but it splits apart and the seeds spread.

I have to admit the Wood Aven is a fantastic example of biological engineering at its best.  But as an unwanted plant it is definitely a weed to me!
