Flying Fox

A complete contrast as we have moved from a large resort hotel on the coast to a small hotel in the mountains. Our chalet is on a ridge with a view down to the west coast at the front while the other side looks down on a forest with the east coast in the distance 

While we knew there were flying foxes in Mauritius we didn’t really expect to see one and it completely took us by surprise the first time one appeared flying towards us. They are huge and once we had seen one we saw several others flying overhead

My first extra is a Mascarene Swiftlet (bird 61) and the second is a view from where we are staying
