Large Skipper
Dartmoor is very green at the moment. 5 minutes from the small parking area at the northern end of Burrator Reservoir on my way up to the open moors and I was already struck by the abundance of flowers, birds and insects. Tall, red foxgloves along the edges of the granite walls, patches of white stonecrop on the granite rocks and banks, and yellow, bird-foot trefoil amongst the grass. A large skipper butterfly alighted on a trefoil flower and provided a subject for today's blip.
