Roses
So today was the day for saying Goodbye to my Mum.
Grace arrived here last night and Zeph, Jeri and Paul came over this morning. We were picked up in the Limo and headed over to Metheringham for the service.
There had been a mix up with the music. It was supposed to be the same set up as it was for my Dad's funeral. They'd provided the music for the hymns and we provide a CD of the secular entrance and exit song.
That's what we assumed. They assumed we'd provide all the music... Fortunately the co ordinator had a phone she could play music through. The nine audience members sang silently, as the vicar put it, through Abide With Me, but we did manage a rousing chorus of All Things Bright and Beautiful!
It went well, as these things go. As Estelle, their old neighbour said, my Dad's peace is now shattered!
We didn't have a wake this time, as the smallest number the village pub cater for is 25, and we weren't even half that many! The kids, Brian and I went for a lovely lunch in a pub in town. Like last time we went there, there was a loud, aggressive woman. Not the same one though...
As we were walking home I realised I still didn't have a Blip, so as we walked past the Vicarage I stole a shot of another of their plants!
