Rigging

Today there was lots of stairs, ladders, dust, sneezes, rigging and focusing lanterns. Oh and coiling cable the right way.

Great fun and I learnt so much but a long hot bath was much needed. I think lighting is more physical than most people on stage realise! And it's filthy work. Lots of kneeling (to counteract the vertigo from being on the gantries way above the studio) and crouching. More so than normal as this was a learning experience so there was quite a bit of waiting around whilst others learned to focus lamps. And then derig so we could go and rig something else. Loved it. I'm definitely one of the novices in the group but everyone is being so helpful.

Luckily I very sensibly chose a sedentary option for the evening class so will feel much better after that bath and a pint!
