Old Post Office in Port d’Envaux

Today most of the shops were closed, but some smaller supermarkets were open until 12.30, due to it being Pentecost, so I escorted our visitors there. Then later we had a wander down to Port d’Envaux  which was the busiest I’ve ever seen, with people and dogs swimming in the river Charente!
I’d been up early and swum 30 lengths in our own pool while Mr F was out at the boulangerie, and was quite tired by the evening. We sat outside until late, watching the sun go down and a young deer in the field behind. It wasn’t afraid at all when Lola aged four, rushed over to have a better look at him.
