Shifting…
… furniture this morning. This was to make a space for the new dining set to be delivered (a round table and four chairs). It arrived at about 1pm, protected in swathes of cardboard and bubble wrap, the glass top separate from the table base. Much as I’d like to unwrap it, I’m thinking it would be best to leave it until the room has been decorated and carpeted. This would mean less risk of damage and make it easier to move to another room while the work is being done.
I popped over to the charity warehouse in Stanway after lunch, donating three large prints in heavy pine frames, a pine dressing table mirror, and a wooden freestanding towel rail. The two largest prints showed scenes of teddy bears and a toy mouse sat around in a circle and lit by rather spooky lamplight. They had always given me the creeps, so despite them having belonged to Mum and Dad I was happy to give them away! I felt bad about the mirror, but have nowhere for it in either of the bedrooms so it had to go. I still find it hard emotionally to part with things that have belonged to my parents.
After that I did the weekly grocery shop at Sainsbury’s. I tried to find something glass for the Mono Monday challenge, but wasn’t happy with any of the images I tried to get. So here’s an Osteospermum ‘Blue Eyed Beauty’ African Daisy, which I thought was rather exquisite and stood out from all the other plants on display.
