Now on Yell
The lest good weather of the whole trip as we travelled from Lerwick to Mid Yell vis the Tofts to Ulsta ferry.
We spent to morning in Lerwick enjoying a coffee and mingling with passengers from three cruise ships that were in the harbour, one the luxurious and exclusive Atlas World Traveller was at the Victoria Pier appearing to be moored right in the town centre.
After filling up with diesel, at the same price as back in Kent, we turned northwards again ending up at 60 deg 59 minutes latitude.
We unpacked an almighty amount of provisions and then walked around the environs of Mid Yell before dinner. It’s a diverse place, with stunning views, beautiful properties but also many derelict buildings, incongruous warehouses and bits of machinery, old vehicles and other sundry discarded items.
After dinner we planned the next 6 days of activities starting with two days exploring Yell. I’m sorry about another stormy blip. It was like that here this afternoon and evening. It took some careful composing to exclude the more unsightly parts of the view from this shot looking out over Mid Yell Voe.
