Miscreant
Today I was up early so that I could have breakfast and give Django a short walk before driving into Edinburgh to meet the "man with a van". I'd expected some strapping youth, but it was a guy of about my age - with two white westie terriers on the front seat. We gradually filled the van with all the furniture that I definitely couldn't move alone, but there were still 6-7 chairs left in the flat, and some smaller items of furniture.
After we'd unloaded into the storage unit in Loanhead, I drove back and collected a few more things, in particular the coffee table that I remember from my childhood, and have coveted for years. I then drove home via Tesco and relaxed! Indeed, after eating I had a nap. Gradually I got back to work, putting together a final call for registrations to our Workshop that starts a fortnight on Thursday.
In the evening I walked Django in the rain, and he was doubly mischievous when we came to the end of Cuiken Glen. Having sat down on the grass and refused to follow me - until I put myself out-of-sight - when he eventually arrived he hadn't brought the ball. Hence I sent him back to get it. He did, but only by nudging it so that it rolled down the last of the slope - which is when I took the photo. He then nudged it slowly with his muzzle through the puddle and up to me. I didn't need to tell him that he'd been a bad dog. Maybe it was some form of protest at me having just spent 10 minutes chatting with Hodge - who was no happier to be having to walk Toby in the rain.
Back home, I caught the last 30 minutes of the entertaining Belgium vs Wales football match.
