Secret Stairs

On the way down to town, there used to be a solid gate in the high stone wall beside the footpath. It was always closed and padlocked.

The padlock still dangles from the hasp, but the door is gone, hinges and all. But what lies at the top of those rather precarious looking steps? 

Maybe next time a grandson visits, I'll send him up to find out!
