Just some flowers

These were in a giant pot outside the library today. The weather was dismal and totally sunless, and I was surprised at how vibrant they looked.

I noticed ‘The One Show’ was going to feature the Royal Academy of Arts summer exhibition tonight. I’m afraid I can’t bear to watch that programme. But I do despair that we seem to get ‘sports news’ almost round the clock, but we rarely get ‘arts news’ unless it’s about a high auction price for a ‘masterpiece’ . There must be as many living practising artists around as there are sportspeople, actors and music bands, but why do we rarely see artists in the media?
