Don't you just love this beautifully vibrant Oedemera Nobilis otherwise known as the Thick Legged Beetle, Swollen Thighed Beetle or False Oil Beetle.   Such apt names too.   They are males apparently as the females don't have the swollen thighs.
The main was on a Field Poppy, the extra on Hogweed and there were some on Dog Roses too but it was too windy to get a photo.

A kind gentleman cut my hedges this morning so I've spent the afternoon raking and bagging up the cuttings.    The garden looks a bit more loved now.

I had an Bee indoors earlier, I scooped it onto a cloth to put back outside and the little blighter stung me.   So much for gratitude.
