Caterpillar

No horses today - I ‘ve gone from four legs to six - although this also has some extra ‘prolegs’ (six or eight)

I think this is an oak eggar moth caterpillar and it was just sitting in the middle of the path.

As I knelt down to photograph it the rear end of the body opened up and a small green pellet was ejected (quite a way).. it can be seen at the left of the shot. First time I have seen a caterpillar actually poo!! I guess it must have been preparing the pellet..as it started moving after passing it!!

Ho hum..
