Rose Festival

Even though we had no intention of doing it, we did, in fact, end up in the thick of Rose Festival things downtown. We took the train to the Rose Quarter early, about 8 am, then walked along the Esplanade and over the Hawthorne Bridge. Then we walked along the Waterfront right through the growing crowds gathering for the Parade - all to get a close-up of the Coast Guard’s Tall Ship. It was all really fun and easy. Then we hopped on the train home. 
It’s really heating up; the next few days will be in the high 90s, and my plan is to stay indoors.
