Common Blue

I decided to go and see how the orchids in the Woodland Trust reserve were doing. There were quite a few not too far from the car park last year, but this year they were far more scarce.

I saw a solitary one (extra) and a chap who was going past said that people had been picking them !!! 

It’s illegal as well as selfish and stupid.

I carried on walking. None in the usual patch. Then just a solitary one. 

I walked further and found quite a few more, a little off the most beaten track. Still in short supply.

And then this beautiful Common Blue butterfly appeared. They always lift my spirits……
