Adventuring Into Acts!
Summer seems to have settled itself comfortably into Central Texas, though there is some speculation that we might be blessed with rain sometime next week. In the mean time, we gathered at FBC to worship and praise God for all the blessings He has given us, including working air conditioners and a successful Sports Camp where three children accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour and many more were asking questions that could lead to later decisions and every child heard the good news of Jesus! The offering from Sports Camp will go toward funding a well in a place where people do not have ready access to usable water. We began our service with a congregational song, followed by the welcome from Chris. After the welcome, the choir orchestra and all our talented accompanists presented a worshipful rendition of "Thank You Jesus For The Blood". The congregation joined in a few more songs. Then Pastor Wes took us in to the Book of Acts to see the beginnings of the church and how the original church was empowered by the Holy Spirit to do God's work on earth then and extending through the years continuing today in church bodies that are open, ready and willing to be about the work that Jesus is still doing in our world. The mission that Jesus started is not finished yet and will not be finished until God says so. We just need to remember that it's not all about us and what we want, but about what He wants to do through the power of the Holy Spirit in us. Pastor Wes lays it all out in the Live-stream which would be worth your time to watch or listen to.....
