Firecracker

I bought this firecracker plant because it is drought tolerate and grows like crazy. It was for the new fence that Jerry built at the beginning of our driveway.

Imagine my surprise when it was blooming this weekend! It is still small but will eventually climb all along the fence. We had a couple of good rains which I think helped it more than me watering.


I love it when I get things to grow! We still have the hot summer to get through so I will be watching it closely.

My friend Danny stopped by the other day and I asked him if he knew where I could find some of the pink “fence “ roses which grow along the roads and fences here. I want to get a start to see if it will grow on the other fence. He said he had one in a pot! He is the plant whisperer around here. He said I could have it but we may want to wait to plant it in the fall.

I might even look for another firecracker plant You can’t have too many yard flowers!
